Performs moderately complex library work. Work involves acquiring and organizing library resources; conducting research; providing information and materials in response to requests; and providing guidance to others. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. A. Administers the unit Access to Courts Program to include Access to Courts rules and procedures and related agency policies and procedures; maintains files, records, and information systems; and ensures compliance with applicable requirements, laws, rules, and policies. B. Maintains and ensures unit law library holdings are kept current, present, and in good condition; assists in coordinating the inter-law library program; assists in coordinating the delivery and pickup of legal research material to inmates with indirect access to the unit law library; and schedules inmate law library attendance and other related services. C. Reviews and evaluates inmate requests for subsequent storage for legal and educational property; issues indigent supplies; reviews, investigates, and approves or denies inmate requests for inmate-to-inmate legal visits; and schedules inmate
1. Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED. 2. Four years full-time, wage-earning criminal justice or library experience. Thirty semester hours from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE) may be substituted for each year of experience on a year-for-year basis. 3.
