Function of Position: Monroe Community College (MCC) seeks applicants for a temporary part-time (17.5 hours per week) reference librarian to work at the LeRoy V. Good Library on the Brighton Campus. This position is available for Spring and Summer 2026, with the potential to extend further. This part-time reference librarian plays an important role in supporting student success by providing reference assistance and information literacy instruction as needed, using a variety of modalities including in-person interactions, Zoom, email, and chat. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist with various projects, which may include updating and creating LibGuides, participating in new student orientations, and other related initiatives aimed at supporting student success. Requisitos

A post-graduate degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited program, completed or expected within six months of hire. Strong communication and public services skills. Demonstrated initiative and adaptability. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. Ability to work weekdays during the daytime hours, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
