JOB The Part-Time Interpreter/Captionist is a part-time position responsible to the Coordinator, Hearing Loss Services and Director, Disability Services. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Providing sign language interpreting/transliterating services for classroom, laboratory and other Tyler Junior College activities as assignedSupporting Captioning Work as neededAccepting regular and/or substitute disability accommodations assignments as necessaryProviding office support including but not limited to: record keeping, filing, copying, faxing, Access data base management, Excel reporting and other computer based activitiesAssisting with scheduling and dispatching interpreter assignmentsCommunicating effectively with Deaf/HoH publics of the CollegeAssisting Interpreter/Coordinator in creating an atmosphere of cordiality and service for staff, program participants and other publics of the CollegePerforming other duties as assigned by the Interpreter/Coordinator and Director of DisabilitiesCompetenciesKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrictly adhere to RID/BEI CPC (Code of Professional Conduct for Interpreters)Must be able to communicate effectively in person, and by email, in addition to engaging in gene
