Description: Employment Status: Part-time Reports to: Principal Summary: The Library Manager maintains a professionally operated library with a welcoming and helpful atmosphere in which caring is encouraged, reading is fostered, and knowledge may grow. The Library Manager partners with teachers and students in the pursuit of learning through the use of library media center materials and equipment. The Library Manager provides the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to support the school’s instructional program. Minimum Qualifications: Education High School diploma An Associate degree or sixty college hours preferred. Evidence of knowledge of library procedures, technical services, awareness of trends in children/young adult literature, material selections, appropriate selection of books, including quality children/young adult literature books, and basic reference skills. License and Credentials Reliable transportation Valid driver license Valid vehicle insurance Minimum Knowledge and Skills: Substantial library experience, with experience of working with schools or with children Community links - Experience of liaising with local literacy events and promoting them in school Experience of organizing literacy and other events within school, e.g. visiting authors.
